Summer is winding down. Figured I would finish it the way I started it. Sitting around the fire.
My thoughtful neighbor dragged his TV in the backyard so we could watch the feabile Twins pitching look terrible against Cleveland. The TV is that square glow you see.
I've already said goodbye to summer, twice, the day my daughter left for college and the day my youngest started school. Right now it all revolves around the school year. Summer starts when they're out and ends when they go back.
What I'm not ready to do is say goodbye to the summer/fall weather. I'm not a big fan of flying snow, ice, etc. But I have a month or so to enjoy being outside.

ReplyDeleteWeaselMomma: there are still a few more hours...hang on!
ReplyDeleteSurprised Mom: I'll be perfectly honest, fall is my favorite season. Fall leads to Christmas!
Silly Girl: Very glad you found my little corner of the world. Thank you for stopping by! I'm glad I brightened your day. Stop back again.
We had a fire last night too...though the wood was so wet, it was more like a smoke-out.
ReplyDeleteIts a strange old world - while you say goodbye to summer, we are just welcoming it!
ReplyDeleteYou could help me cheer on my Angels as we head to the post season. I mean we have Torii Hunter (ex Twin) you could cheer for...
ReplyDeleteSummer almost went as fast as the Twins' playoff chances.
