Again, Tismee2 over at Squared Off put up a post that I just needed to share my answer to with more detail.
She asked her readers what traditions there families had when it came to take care of Santa on Christmas eve. What a great question!
One of the things I like most about these here intertubes is it's power to break down barriers...like the Atlantic Ocean. Tismee2, you see, is across the pond in England.
I'm fascinated by how different cultures handle similar events and holidays. Santa, isn't an American, he's a citizen of the world.
What I'm showing you here today is something my wife, the world greatest decorate and detail keeper, picked up at the Pottery Barn a few years ago. It's the Christmas Eve Santa Treat Kit. Flip Fantasia!
Each year, after spending Christmas Eve with OhCountess' father's family, we come home and prepare a spread for Ol' Saint Nick and his entourage. They get the good stuff at our house.
What's on the menu?
- Milk
- Homemade cookies
- And for the reindeer - baby carrots.
What kinda spread do you put out for Santa on Christmas Eve?

Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
We usually put out cookies & milk but this year Santa is on a diet!
Merry Christmas!
I HAVE to have a set like that!
Off to e-bay to see what I can find.
Hope your family got all they wished for. I'm slobbing around now, fat and bloated and a little hyper on chocolate!
Happy Christmas and thanks for joining in.
Hey ya! Hope you had a very merry one :) Tweet ya later!
That is adorable! Santa's a lucky guy stopping there. I never thought to put out carrots for the reindeer. My daughter would love that. She's all about the reindeer.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
See my latest post for your answer! :P I am difficult like that..
The big guy gets cookies on a Santa plate and a cup of milk at our house.
Not as nice as yours though. I think it's time for me to upgrade.
Happy Holidays.
Well...I put out a lovely white wine, but somehow it was all gone by the time Santa arrived:P
I was feeling it the next day;)
Hope you had a great Holiday!
